HELP!__We Cant get any satalite signal- PLZ HELP !!!

We don't have a sky dish, and we want it,

The problem. - we can't get any signal.
But we have 4 giant trees in our garden, and outside we have a park and have more high trees there, so this is preventing us from getting a signal to a satellite dish,

we have had a sky engineer in the past to find signals all around our house , he got on the roof of the house to see if they could get a signal, but he didn’t get anything that a satellite dish could receive - so he couldn’t get a signal on his meter!

There is no cable in the area.

WHAT CAN WE DO, HELP _

a)Does anybody know any company’s who specialise in getting satellite dishes in Remote areas?

b)What companies/websites could help us?

c)Has anybody had this problem? how did it get solved?

d)What are the alternatives we can do to get satellite? = what can we do?

Get back
thanks,

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

From your description you may be one of the small amount of houses that cannot get satellite signals. If so your alternatives are limited - basically DTT.

However, the dish doesnt have to be fitted to the house - can you get one installed the other side of the trees? If not you are probably stuck.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Have you asked an independent company to check for signal? They may charge, but they will probably try a little harder than the average Sky installer.

If there is no place to site a dish with line of sight of the satellite on your plot, then is there anywhere just outside, on a neighbours house or in their garden perhaps?

If no line of sight can be found, then you will have to forget satellite, then the only other alternative, if you have a good broadband connection, is a Slingbox at a friend's house or a Sling hosting company.

I would suggest you have a look at Yellow Pages or the Thomson directory to get a local installer
