My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Hi Sara, welcome to the forum. To be honest - if the channels are that important to you then you should be subscribing to the local provider.

Apart from that wait a few days to see if the card share server comes back up again. This is the problem with c/s systems - once they get popular they become an easy target for the providers. I can think of several ways to take a c/s server offline in a few minutes.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I would not recommend any of these server tied receivers, as the net result is normally closure of the server and disappointed users.

If you want to card share, then get yourselves Linux receivers and start your own cardshare ring, or join a server, the only way to guarantee service is to start your own.

No, as I said, you buy a receiver with server settings built in, if the server gets closed down by the card providers, or the sellers because there is no more money to be made, then you are on your own, as it isn't legal.

The server will only ever last as long as the sellers of the receiver make money, once the sales stop, the server closes.

The pay server all these receivers connect to got taken out. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it until the server comes back up again. This might be a few days, it might be a few weeks, it may never come back....

Until it comes back you do without.....

My System: Starex

Analoguesat, Rolfw.

I got the Starex to watch the French Channel that are on Hotbird. However, as you know, the server is shut down. I dont give a damn for the showtime channels, because I already have an existing legal subscription.

My question is as follow: Knowing that I live in UAE and need to get French Channel, Can you give me the name of a brand or a receiver type I should buy and create my own CS system? do u have any guide/ manual that teaches how to do these things?

I need to get the brand name of a receiver which I can work on to get the French channels, most notably TPS channels. I live in UAE. Any brand that can be easily configured. Any website that teaches the configuration of receivers?

plz help

I suggest you do not bother as the MV channels have already left Hotbird and the TPS channels will be leaving sometime soon.

Easily configured for what?
There is no such website that is dedicated to configuring receivers.

You seem to have a strange view of what a forum is. This whole forum is dedicated to all aspects of satellite TV reception, but you have to read about it. Nobody will hold your hand, nobody has time to do that.
