Any information re: dish size, motorised vs non/motorised systems and receivers would be very much appreciated. I am based in sunny Harlow (Essex)...(hmm!) Thanks ever so much!

| I suggest you look at the Lyngsat.com website and check out what channels you would like to receive. The main satellites to look at are 23.5°e for Czech/Slovac Link and 19°e for UPC, but you might find some more channels of interest on other satellites. Then when you have decided what channels on what satellites you would like to receive post again and people here will give you advice on dish size and subscription requirements. | ||

My System: Technomate 1500ci + super , freesat uk , hyunday hss1120na | In my opinion would be best to subscribe to digitv in either of these countries , or have a 90cm dish pointed at 1w and a receiver with patch for now until they change encryption .

| I can't advise on installers local to you. However, if you are confident about the mechanics of installing a dish (climbing ladders, fixing mounts to a wall, running cables to inside your house etc) why don't you try to install it yourself. You can be assured that you will receive the very best technical advice from many experienced members on this forum. | ||

My System: none, want slovak TV in UK |
Hi Guys, My other half is Slovakian and I'd love to get Slovak TV here for her. I saw a 60cm dish and kit for about £40 in B&Q over the weekend. I looked at lyngsat.com and it can get some channels like Joj and Markiza which is fine, pointing at 23.5d. I think the brand was something like PHILEX? Any idea if this would work? Thanks in advance Ian

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | If you are looking at Slovak TV on 23.5 East, you need a good quality dish, as pefect alignment is critical, as is perfect LNB skew. Something like a Gilbertini 125cm will do the job.

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband. | There are some free to air channels on 1 west. See _http://www.flysat.com/tv-sk.php. That B&Q set might just suffice. Parky

My System: none, want slovak TV in UK | Ok I'm totally confused now! I've had a quote from an installer quoting roughly £400, am I being taken for a ride or is that about right? Ian

The price you have quoted sounds fair if it includes the equipment and installation. Reception coverage shown below.
