My System: DM500, 90cm dish
HELP!!! I think I've bricked my DM500

If anyone can help I will be forever in their debt. I've been installing a new surround sound system and I've unhooked the satellite in coax from my DM500. Once I got everything sorted I reconnected it, but then realised that the box was still on!

Now, if I boot the box with the satellite aerial connected, the box part boots and then resets. If I take the aerial out the box boots up and then tries to move the dish.

My system is a DM500 and a motorised Diseqc Dish.

Anyone any thoughts on whether the DM500 is bust, the motor is bust, both or if there's a way to reset everything

Any help is MASSIVELY appreciated!

Update: I booted the box without the satellite aerial connected, went to the sat configuration and selected single satellite, rebooted the box with the satellite aerial connected and it booted, but couldn't get a signal. When I changed it back to diseqc it crashed and rebooted. Looks like it's the power to or from the motor that's causing the crash - any ideas?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Check the "F" connector on the cable, you may be shorting out.

AS I said - I am forever in your debt - it was a bad F-Connector coupling - cable wasn't long enough and had to connect them.

Visit to maplins first thing tomorrow!

Thanks for the reply - Can't explain the relief when it come back up!

Cheers!
