Hughes satellite dishes?

Seen a couple of these round West London. Grey dish with 2 parallel arms with the LNB between them on what looks like some sort of motor. Any ideas what this is? It could be these guys (_http://www.hughes.com) with their satellite broadband service but why the odd dish/LNB setup?

Thanks.

Well

Looking at their webpage I would say it is a Vsat or internet service as you would need to both transmit and receive data indeed even using this as part of a WAN it would need both capabilities, otherwise error correction and flow control could not operate effectively.

My System: Sky; Raven 90 with LNBs for 1W, 7E, 13E 16E and 19E; Technomate 1500 and Kathrein Analogue Receivers

I think corner shops use them for Lotto 2-way communications; I have also heard that fast food joints use them too (whatever for, I don't really know!).

My System: Dreambox 800 Nabilo Blackhole v0.3/250 Gig/ Dreambox 500s-(clone) PLi Jade/ Relook 400s 160 Gig-/AbCom Enigma Foretec 90cm Dish with Nikkai Diseqc Motor- 2 sky+ receivers fixed 28.2 east.

I have noticed a few funny looking Dishes over here at Spar shops. They look like the large sky mini dishes, fixed at a funny angle and the arm with the lnb is a good bit longer. I asked one of the staff about it in my local and she said it brings in Spar radio and its also used to send and receive stock orders to the main distribution warehouse. Ill take a pic the next time Im there.

Most of them are raven dishes with feedhorn omt and buc & lnb for VPN over vsat as all the new lotto terminals will run over vsat the old ones run over ISDN they are getting rid of the old ones soon lotto shops will also have big plasma screens will results and advertising's and local info which will be sent over the vsat network to the shop.
