TM 3500d

Technomate 3500d + - does anyone know if this system is any good? Looking for first receiver away from sky and as I dont have a HD tv thought this for the price was worth a look. I currently have a FTA system using skybox - will I still be able to get these channels?

many thanks from a newbie - great site by the way

My System: TM6800HD+TD110+StabHH90 motor,TM1000D+Orbital 1m Multifeed 16E,23E,28E.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox.

Hi, I have a couple of TM's different models but I like them, easy to use and functionality is good. Build quality is better that some of the real cheapo models you can get hold of.

Yes, you would get all the FTA channels that are available to your location with your dish size, same as the Sky box, although some receivers are slightly more sensitive than others.

Although, one thing I would ask is why do you want to change from the Sky Digibox? If it works alright, there is no real need.

You will only be able to get the freesat channels frankly I cannot see a reason to swap, the only better bit will be the dedicated freesat EPG.

thanks

thanks for the replies guys. my reason for considering move is a desire to begin inroads into satellite viewing ie dual LNB's etc also heard that Ch5? (or is it 4) is leaving SKY- so I'm presuming that when this happens my sky card will not receive it? I'd rather wait and get a better receiver once I've learned more and got other equip to go with it ie HD tv etc
