My System: TM6800HD+TD110+StabHH90 motor,TM1000D+Orbital 1m Multifeed 16E,23E,28E.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox.

You can watch what you have recorded with the TM5400. Although a USB HDD would be better as you can fit more on it.

My System: TM 5400CI+, 1 fixed & 1 TM2200 motorized dish

Just to amplify what Robbo has said - you can only watch unencrypted recorded programmes. You will get an error trying to record an encrypted channel.

You will not be ableto copy videos from another source and watch them on you TM via usb stick.

Ahh, I didn't realise that encrypted channels couldn't be recorded on the TM5400, I thought that bug had been fixed. On my TM6800, everything can be recorded.

Can also play any SD recordings back on my PC too, GOM player seems to work OK.

They have fixed the bug - they brought out a new receiver!!
TM5400CI+ Super.
AIUI the original 5400 didn't have enough processing power to decrypted, record and do everything else as well!
