My System: New Greek user | I have a house in Greece (Crete) and wondered if any of the three old sat boxes i have will work there. I am a "COMPLETE NOVICE" so any "techyanswers" will be completley unintelligable to me. The old boxes I have are:- Salora 5902 Nokia Sat 1700 mk2 Panasonic TU DSB 30 What satellite would I use? Any helpful comments welcomed. Mike | ||

My System: Satellite Dish 1.6m Hotbird 13E, DreamBox 7000S with Gemini 4.5.0; Dish 1.2m Amos 4W, Nokia 9600S; Nokia 9800S; Hauppauge Nexus-S PCI Card ![]() He battled for 3 days against the Tux and won! Hurray!! |
There are other satellites, but these are the ones to start with. If they are all FTA, then you might need another one with CI slot and Irdeto support for a Nova Greece subscription or any other legitamite subscription in Viaccess, Seca, Nagravision, etc.

Hurray!! | One more thing, you might be better off buying a new receiver in the UK and bring it over. The old receivers might have a limit on the number of channels that can be stored in memory.
