German Channels to go encypted?

Hi, I have been reading on this forum and I am wondering if this is true.

Basicly when Analogue channels are switched off, Most of the German channels will become encypted. However AstroTV and 123.tv shut off on analogue and sold a FTA decoder ONLY which gives the impression that it will not be going encypted. Anyone know more?

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

SES was hoping to get many of the channels to go scrambled using their "entavio" transmission model. Its not been a great success with few channels signing up for it. Id guess many of the smaller chasnnels and the psb services will stay fta long term.

Hi,
According to my information this is not an issue for the government run FTA channels(ARD,ZDF etc.)
Wires may have been crossed as Sat1.,Kabeleins & some others have channels (sat1 comedy etc.) on the Premiere platform. They are encrypted!!! .
So dont worry. Premiere are however in a process of changing their encryption system here in Germany, they will use NDS & Nagra3 from the end of the month if you can believe their press release.

Yeah I know about premiere, I'm more interested in the Viacom channels that are reasonable for FTA channels. I was just unaware if anymore has been said about it since I cannot see germany being happy topay for TV.
