My System: 'Fortec Star Passion' (& a dead SL65) One of them big Woks on the outside, and a thingy that moves it about a bit.
Different Silvercrest SL65's

LIDL is recently selling these receivers again.
Needing a cheap box for the bedroom I bought two.

The reason there were two different ones in different boxes.
One in a green box and one in a white and beige box.

On the front one has DVB-S SL 65
the other just SL 65.

Both have different style of menus?

I am trying to tell which is the latest or best version so that I can take the other back?

Anyone know?

My System: DM 600 PVR with HDD. Gemini 4.50, Moteck SG2100, Fracarro Penta 85 dish, + some puters

I dont know which is the latest version, but I'd be more concerned with which chips are on the motherboard than which is newer, some of them can be flashed with firmware that will allow you to clear encrypted channels.

My System: Pheonix Apollo converted to an openbox x820

There are two different chips for this box, the A1 and B1 and the only way to find out which one they are is to have a look on the main board by removing the metal plate which is on the chip.. I think the B1 is more patchable but not sure.. Do some more research before you take the old one back as from what i've read they are more likely to be patchable

There is also the E1 chip, if you are lucky and thats what you have, there will be no need to remove the heatsink from the chip.

Its easy to remove the receiver cover to check, as far as I can remember, any of the ones I checked had no seal, so removing the cover should not null your warranty.

Flashing it will
