Depending which version of the software you're running it is quite easy.
Press the White button, with a tick on it, and select Add Data.
Press OK when on the SAT line, you then get the drop down list of satellites, scroll to S00 and press OK.
You can now name your new satellite and add information.

All Echostar receivers are quite old but you should have the last released firmware installed.
The White button, with the black tick, is on your remote control.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

There havent been any s/w updates for Echostar 3000's for several years. You could just modify the existing frequencies for W1 at 10E of course.

Try this -

In Installation - Program Satellites, go to 10E and make sure you have a signal.

In Advanced Installation, Satellite, use your right arrow key to find either an unused satellite or carry on pressing until you get to ???. (Not my question marks, that's what you find at the end )

Press OK to access the alphanumeric keyboard to name your satellite. Be aware that you only have a limited space to name it. I used 'Euro 9E'. Save.

Go down to Longitude and change to 9E.

Enter details for your TP's and scan.

I tried your method thank you But when I try to move to longitude 9%e it informs me that it is invalid.
Maybe it is something that I have done wrong.I tried to adjust Eutelsat 3 from 7% to 9% ,so when I follow your method I have probably two satellites locations at 9% .Do I make sense?
Shall I remove Eutelsat 3 ,if I can.
I type in name of new Eurobird as you advised in ?????? But cannot scan.Your help advice is greatly appreciated thank you

That procedure works OK for me. My Echostar is without Viaccess, but I'm fairly sure yours has the same Menu setup.

I just scanned one 9E TP in to set the satellite up, and it appears in the SAT list in the correct position, albeit on the same motor count as 10E. Then you can scan the 9E TP's in and delete any 9E's from Eutelsat W1 10E.

You can move it a few counts either way if you want to store it at a different position away from 10E, but it's not really worth the bother unless you have a massive dish that needs tuning to one degree between satellites

Make sure you have all the parameters typed in, or you will get that error.

Try these and then scan -

Hi gordonmt,
you can try this but I'm guessing that your software resembles my Echostar 3600 and not Llew's.

Press the Menu Button on your remote control.
Use the Right/Left Arrow Buttons, on your remote, to select the Hammer Symbol, Press OK.
Select the first Satellite Dish symbol and Press OK.
Scroll Down to Set Limits and Press OK.
Scroll to Program Sattelites and Press OK.
Press OK when the SAT is highlighted to reveal the drop down box.
Select the satellite you've just added.
Scroll down to TP and select 11843 V 27500, if it's in the list.
Scroll down to Position and use your Right/Left Arrow buttons to position the satellite at 9E.

Please post back with your results.

Thank you once again. However it did not work my model is the AD3000IP not the 3600.
I went into menu and tried the left and right arrows on my remote ,nothing came up I tried it against every entry on the list of the menu and even off the list .So I got nowhere.
I was hoping that a member might have the actual modl that I have, but no such luck,I have evn tried Echostar direct by e-mail and got no response whatsoever.

Have you tried adding the satellite and associated transponder(s) using Setedit and uploading to your STB?

May have more luck that way.

The earlier forms of firmware did not allow storage of a satellite before finding an active transponder scanning, and you may have the universal (Star Trek) remote which does not have the colour buttons of the original Echostar remote.

Since a lot of transponders on 9E share similar characteristics of the more common satellites, I found it is easier to access one of the unused ones (NileSat 7E for example), and move it over to the 9E position. Then scan and store, then rename.

Hi gordonmt,
does your menu look similar to this, as supplied by Ken Barlow?
This has been set for a fixed dish and not a motorized set up but is it a similar layout?

Isn't that menu only used in receivers with Echonav software Mickha?

I stand to be corrected, but I don't think the 3000 series was ever offered with Echonav.

Yes it is from the Echonav software, taken from a picture of the echostar dsb 2200 software.
Is the software in the Echostar AD-3000IP Viaccess version different to other Echostar models?
Is there a section in the 3000 menu that lists the software installed?

I have just downloaded the manual for the Echostar 3000, but I can't tell which software version is depicted, but it resembles the attachment posted by yourself rather than the Echonav software version.

I am surprised that Echostar didn't offer the Echonav software for the 3000 model, I assumed the 3000 and 3600 models were very similar, I'll have to check the specifications to spot the differences.

After going through both manuals I think I just about prefer the Echonav software, but I wish Echostar had continued support as there are a number of ways it could have been improved, especially making it easier to rename and delete satellites

Yes, the Echonav software for the 3600 certainly appeared to be an improvement over the 3000's Echoloader. Still, after all the years I've been using it, I've got used to its little quirks.

My software version is ESC1AP 1100 (the last update). Gordonmt could update to the 1000 version (the last one on Echostar's site), although whether it would make any difference regarding his problem is open to question.
