Silvercrest SL80/2 100ci?

Hello all first post here Im thinking of buying a silvercrest sl80/2 100ci from lidle but im a complete noob when it comes to anything satellite the only thing I have ever done is changed the lnb on my sky dish to a quad lnb for sky + , so here's my questions just what can I expect to get from the silvercrest sl80 can I receive encrypted channels or do I need somthing else to get these, can I pick up other satellites and therefore recieve more channels?
any help would be great.

hope I put this in the right place

My System: Sky; Raven 90 multi-LNB 1W, 7E, 9E, 13E 16E, 19E; 1m Orbital dish on Moteck SG2100 motor; Technomate 1500, Phoenix Apollo and Kathrein (analogue) etc etc Receivers

If you are interested in encrypted channels, you should consider getting a Technomate 5400 Super (or even the older simply 5400 i.e. not Super) which though only a bit more expensive will be much easier to use and update.

Question silvercrest SL80/2 100CI

I did buy one of these, although I have not yet taken it out of it's box.

Does anyone have any info on it for me?

I know that it has a hard disc and I know it needs 2 seperate feeds to guarantee that I can record 2 channels at once.

However, I'd like to get some feedback from someone who already has this machine.

I 'm also particularly interested in the card slot that the silvercrest SL80/2 100CI has.

How do I use this slot & what can I expect to receive when I eventually set it up?

Many thanks in advance for any help that you may be able to offer me.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

You can get a CAM to sit in the CI slot, but there isn't very much available unless you are going the subscription route and what is available is likely to die soon.

Cool

Thanks ROLFW,

I guess I should have started using it sooner. Still I suppose I can still use it for recording freeview, so it's not a complete waste.

Thanks again for your help.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

It's a demand for spoonfeeding: An alternative to visiting the Comag Website and finding the Key Editor in the usual way.
