Question Can I connect 2 receivers using the loop through option?

I should know this but the need never arose before. Bought the Smart MX 4 L this week for feeds etc, its fine for that but I would like to use my Topfield as well I like the Topfields software. The Topfield will be the main receiver so dose that mean the Topfield is antenna in and the Smart is feed from the Topfield?

If the Topfield is on and I switch off the Smart I see the Topfield and visa versa?

Thanks in advance.

Regards JD Belgium.

you've got it JD...

but...

....you do find that some stbs just don't like to be linked like that, so just try it..

also...

....both should be able to control the motors*./. diseqc switches... and you can have both on -on the same band - usually with no real loss too. (1 or 2 to record from etc..)

*if you use diseqc 1.2 to 36v.... then you need to line up the diseqc numbers per satellite but don't alter diseqc motor positions with the second stb (unless you want to tweak it the odd time)

some stbs don't allow editing of the diseqc positions ... in that case leave the motor off on the 2nd and just use the first to control the motor.

Thanks Pedro, thats fine as I use a separate positioner. I'm going to try in an hour or so. I'll report back. The Smart will be powered off when not in use.
