New here and a total noob, some info please!

Hi, just got a Humax pvr-9100 today, upgraded from a different pvr as it kept breaking.

I noticed the CAM slot in the front and thought i'd do some research on what this was.

Anyway, i'd lke to see if i can get some satellite channels through this box, would love eurosport as i always miss the motorbike racing.

We have a sky minidish set up from when we had sky ages ago, still have the box and everything downstairs.

I wonder if anyone can give me some help with how i can connect it all up and what i need to buy etc.

I've ocnfused myself with LNB's, astra blah blah i know absolutely nothing, so any help appreciated.

I don't even think i've posted in the right place lol.

My System: TM6800HD, TM1000, TM600 Linux,TM5200, TM2200 motor, Triax TD110 dish + Fortec 85cm. Meter=Satlook Micro+G2 NIT

A motorised dish is usually the best option, plus a foreign subscription of some sort, maybe a Diablo CAM.

If you connect your receiver to your Sky dish, you'll get the FTA channels from 28E.

Check lyngsat for details.

OK thanks, i checked out the lyngsat site, but it seems a little wierd, i couldn't work out what i'd be getting on 28E, i couldn't even find 28E lol.

Unfortunately not being my house, i don't really have the option of adding a different dish, which i would like to do as it doesn't really seem expensive.

Are the FTA channels the only ones i can get with the sky dish?

Unfortunately yes they are the only channels unless you have a sky subscription, in which case you would need a dragon/t/rex cam NDS videoguard which is the encryption system on 28East is totally secure. If you were prepared to mess about re aligning the dish in theory you could receive other satellites, but a separate dish would be desirable

Lyngsat channel list for 28East is here
