My System: Mini dish and Samsung cyfrowy polsat receiver |
Hi all im new so please excuse me if this is not the right section, it seemed like the best one for my question. i have recently installed a mini dish to pick up hotbird for polsat. i am getting a 65% signal on all channels pretty much all of the time. When it rains i still get about 65% except for about 4 channels, mainly TVN 1 and 2, and jetix. there is one more but i cant remember the name. i know that a mini dish is a tad small, but i was wondering if its something simple, because its only 4 channels i lose. The rest of the time i get all channels, and about 200 extra free ones. A friend of mine has polsat on a mini dish aswel and does not have any weather issues! thanks

My System: Zone1, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR - Nab BH0.12, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM 1s | Welcome, Could be a number of possibilities being a slightly poor aligned dish, LNb or a cabling issue to name a few. I'd opt for a slightly larger dish though to cope with rain fade.

My System: Mini dish and Samsung cyfrowy polsat receiver | how do i check the cable? it all seems ok. and the LNB, how can i check that? im not too sure how to check the elevation of the dish, if i knew where 0 degrees is i can do it. im presuming that zero is having the dish perfectly vertical? then i need 28 degrees. if thats correct then my dish is set to that.

Either use the satellite signal set up screen or a meter. As said, it's a possibility.
