My System: haven't got one yet
Installation of complete New System( for Hotbird)

Hi, I'm totally new to this; thinking of installing satellite system to get Hotbird (mostly for Arabic channels). Looking for advice with regards to acquiring a fairly good system :
Dish size;
LNB;
Receiver and anything else that goes with it.
Ideally want to be able to get most channels without having to pay extra if you know what I mean!! I've seen a receiver on Ebay for £200:

DIGITAL SATELLITE RECEIVER TM 6800 HD PVR USB PATCHED. Is this a good buy for what I need?
I live in Coventry (West Midlands).
A shop nearby has offered Echolink 700FTA plus an oval dish (about 55 or 60cm) for £125 inc cable + installation. Obviously no mention of getting channels which are encrypted. As I say I'm after quite a good quality picture with extra channels at no extra charge; also I would like to get Sky or Astra using the same dish. Is that poss? Thanks for all the help.

My System: Zone1, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR - Nab BH0.12, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM 1s

For Hotbird 13e, you require a standard fixed 60cm dish & LNb.

Multi satellite - Options are larger fixed dish with Multi-bracket arm for 13e, 19e, & 28e or go motorised route. A decent 85cm -100cm dish on a DiSEqC motor will give you more viewing options with the TM 6800 you have been offered.

My System: TM6800HD, TM1000, TM600 Linux,TM5200, TM2200 motor, Triax TD110 dish + Fortec 85cm. Meter=Satlook Micro+G2 NIT

Yep, a 60cm would not be big enough for 13E,19E and 28E with a fixed dish. Although motorising it would be fine for those three. But for more bigger is better.
