Well

Don't know for sure but I suspect you are referring to the illegal re-broadcasters operating in Spain, they are gradually being taken down by the government so I would not bother finding out, even though they are illegal they are still encrypted and we do not discuss such systems.

Or is this something recent in the same way the UK has set up freesat???

no they seem legal but i done some looking into it, and i found out you need a sky star2 card and some software from hispasat website or a Mvision receiver with patches. it all good me finding out but i think in the summer i will need to try and get my dish to beat the trees !

Yes, they are legal with the correct receiver, not a dodgy re-roadcast. Last I heard, they could be received with a patched mvision S4, whether that's still the case, I don't know.

This procedure worked on the S4 in April last year:-

first it needs the latest official firmware

then a reset,

Then the patch software put on - MV-SV-2.47 ups

which includes an emulator module

It may also possibly need the channel list.-S4-DTT_HispChannelist.sdb
