Playback of TM6800 files on TM5200

Info for anyone who has more than one Technomate PVR ready satellite receiver.

I have a TM6800HD and a TM5200, I want to play programmes recorded with the TM6800 on the TM5200.

Intitally it didn't work, as the filenames were not recogized. But It turns out that the TM5200 uses .ts extentions and the TM6800 .trp.

Well, after a bit of fiddling I did manage to get it to work.
Anyway, the TM6800 uses the file extention .trp and if the total recording length is larger than about 1.5GB it splits it up into files, the proceeding files have extentions .001 , .002 etc.

I don't know what the TM5200 does, but what I did was (using the PC) rename all video files so their extentions were .ts, and relabled the first part of the file names to Part1, Part2, Part 3 etc.

It then plays on the TM5200 OK, The runtime info is missing (set to 00:0:00), but it plays fine.

There may be an easier way of doing it, if anyone knows, please post it, if not, I hope someone finds this useful.

I assume that the same applies to all the 6000 series , eg the 6900HD and all the 5000 series eg the 5400, but can;t confirm as I don't have them to try.
