My System: no sat yet (which hopefully after posting on this site things will change) Dell 6000 laptop - any good?
Old Newbie

Hi Everyone I am an "Old Newbie" & I am thinking of buying a new tv with built in freestat & sat receivers installed. I also have a humax pvr 9200 & 9300? I quite like the idea of a motorised dish etc. but haven,t a clue how to go about things. So advice please e.g. am I wasting my money buying a tv with tuners already installed, or should I get a seperate unit. Could I utilise an old sky dish that I have & fit a new lnb to it etc etc. Could I also have replies in language I can understand please.orrrrrrrrrrrrrr should I just forget about it

My System: TM6800HD, TM1000, TM600 Linux,TM5200, TM2200 motor, Triax TD110 dish + Fortec 85cm. Meter=Satlook Micro+G2 NIT

There are many options available, it depends on what exactly you want.

TVs with built in sat tuner would be fine just for watching Freesat, a separate Freesat receiver such as the Humax HDR would give an additional benefit of being able to record digitally, straight to hard disk. And yep, and existing Sky dish would do the job.

Yes, having a motorised dish could be see as a lot to learn to start with, but over a bit of time, you will pick up what you need.
