My System: 'Fortec Star Passion' (& a dead SL65) One of them big Woks on the outside, and a thingy that moves it about a bit.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Its fine for what it is: The equivalent in many ways of the Silvercrest packages often sold by Lidl.

Let's face it, its almost worth it for the Receiver alone, even thought the Dish is small.

Depends upon your interests: As an introduction to multi-sat, you'll get Astra 2, Astra 1, Hotbird, Atlantic Bird 3 and a few others.

But when you get fed up of re-aligning the Dish every time you change Satellite, you might decide to get a bigger one with multi-LNB arm, or a Motor

Meanwhile, after a Bacon Butty .............

Just read your profile and noticed you're already Satsavvy:

I'd say the Aldi kit was a newbie product - a bit retrogressive for someone who already has a multi-Sat system.

My System: FTE Max, Skystar2.3 and Skystar2.6, 2.2m Kinhuge Dish with Inverto LNB and Invacom ADF-120 feedhorn. Pace 1.3.25 and 80cm for Sky.

If that's a 45cm dish then the receiver must be pretty big.

I saw this advertised, and thought I would post for those who were looking for an entry level system. I started with the equivilent Silvercrest SL65 system.

Surprised that there was no mention of its pending sale this weekend, posted this for comments.

Despite the weight, even I would never lose a Remote control of that size

The good thing about Aldi, certainly here in the UK is their return/refund policy. Buy it, try it, Take it back if you don't like it.

Doesn't matter much either way as there is very little available by "other means" now.

in Germany ,there is a law, that a advertising offer must be avalible enough for all in the store,in the first day of purchase,if not aldi has to pay fine
yes the return policy is very good!
the other shops dont have it like _cosmos.at
or mediamarkt!
here in austria ,you have more rights, when you order something from the net,you can order, test it and send it back, and the dealer, have also payed for the postage!
best return policy of all has ,amazon within 30 days! you can send back everything expect open software cds!

Hi Everyone, new to the site, i've just brought this system from aldi, the make is a tevion/philex box model number 28216ald.. I was just wondering if there might be available to patch this system? I've been hearing that the tevion boxes are the same as comag's?

I don't know whether you can or not - but there is so very little available now that it hardly seems worth the effort: What are you wanting to receive?

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

There aren't patches for all Comag/Silvercrest receivers, so even if it is a rebadged version of either of these, it is unlikely that there will be a patch available. Also bear in mind that there is very little available by software patch and that which is, may not be available for very long.

My System: Comag SL65, MVision st5 for PVR, Technomate 2300 HH motor, Orbital 100cm dish, Inverto Black Ultra LNB.

Just brought on of these packages for my mum’s house, I could not resist cracking the top of the receiver. The marking on the chip don’t match any of the sl35/65 I know of.

Gosh, that's a big enclosure for such small boards: Heat dissipation, or an attempt to disguise its provenance?
