overclocking, ram and cpu of a sat receiver,to get faster zapping times?

Hello!
today,i found i nice auction on Ebay, where someone,is selling a overclocked dbox 2 ,the memory timings has been set from 66 to 75 mhz,now zapping time is much faster, that over clocking is posible, for those who know how to set a contactbride on cpu i know, but i never heard, that someone try this on his sat receiver?
if this would be posible for more modells, then operation speed, should be much faster, espasaly on old stbs like mediamaster 9800
what the computer experts here, mean about this, anyone ever do this?

changing the ram,to faster types, maybe brigs also more speed, but, usaly,i think it is imposilble to remove the rams from the mainboard!
after overclocking the receiver,a better cooling system, will be requeired for the rams and cpu..!

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

Well, if we look into sat receiver, we can see it consists from several blocks - main cpu and tuner module currently. Of course there are ram and rom chips and other peripherals, but all these belong to cpu support.

In older tuners, there was no so tight integration of all feature in central CPU, as we can see in current receivers, so channel "zapping" was done by separate ASIC (application specific IC). Also, in these times, tuner module was outputting the analogue signal, wich was later demodulated by dedicated chip. So playing around with frequencies may give certain results in some cases.

In current receivers, 99% of tuner modules already output demodulated digital signal, and also, for "zapping" they use integral chip, which has built-in oscillator, so overclocking of tuner module is not so easy and unpractical.

This is nothing new m8, overclocking the dbox2 has been happening since 2006. With bluepeer (boxcrackers) and Rudbox images one can overclock. You patch the uboot with the relvant overclocking file this can be between 67 -89 Mhz. These work fine but chipset gets Hot above the 80Mhz mark!!, so you definitely need some form of cooling ie Fan, heatsink ect..
