My System: Silvercrest SL 65 from Lidl
silvercrest sl65

I have silvercrest sl65 from lidl which has worked fine when away in my caravan. On this occasion I found it would only provide European channels, BBC World, Sky news europe and cnbc. I tried to rescan for channels and now get what appears to be the default channels and all teh Uk channels I previously had are missing.

I know litle about this. It gets a good signal on astra 19 and astra 28 east but I guess I have lost the set up to access the UK stations.

Any help would be appreciated

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

If you are getting BBC world then you are not pointing at the correct satellite.

PS moved this from site access and membership problems.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Indeed - you are on Astra 1 at 19.2E, instead of Astra 2 at 28E.

Just bung the Dish a bit further East and depress the Elevation slightly and all will be well.

The pre-stored "Satellites" are just data tables so if you Auto Scan Astra 2 while aligned to Astra 1, you'll get Astra 1 Channels listed under Astra 2.

Thanks. Will give it another try. Spent ages and could only get a response on the beeper at one position.

Got it. I use this for touring with the caravan. Got confused when I scanned it and it picked up all the Astra 19 stations It works fine when you get the sattelite ok. Need the big dish 60cm as I use it in Scotland all the time. I have a beeper and a signal finder.

It can be real hard to get the correct satellite as the system shows a good signal on Astra 19 and Astra 28 when you pick up a sattelite. Anyway not bad for £60 when you consider some of the systems for touring cost big bucks.

Thanks for help

No problem - now you know about the other strong Satellite positions, you'll be better placed to find the one you want!

Hotbird is worth a look if you have an idle hour or three.
