Help with Yu-ma-tu receiver

Hello everyone,
ok so im a total noob when it comes to sat tv, even though i've been watching it since I was a kid.
Im currently in a new appartment that has sat tv and i'm trying to make a yu-ma-tu receiver work, with no results.
I was told by others in the building it should work fine, just plug it in and watch. But apparently it gets no signal at all.
I've tryed connecting it to both "loop" and that other one on top of it, but still no results.
It has 2 percentage bars and they are both at zero.
Any help? I'm not sure i gave enough info so if you have any questions ill be happy to answer.
Thanks in advance!

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Well the obvious answer is:

Try your Box on a neighbour's feed

Borrow a neighbour's Box to try on your Feed

I doubt most of us here are familiar with that specific Box, but simple substitution should tell you a great deal.

If the problem is your Box, you need to note the settings from a neighbour's working Box and replicate them.

thanx for your answer.
actually i've tried 2 yu-ma-tu boxes and none worked...
anyways i'll try a neighbour's box maybe that will unveil the problem.
anything else it could be? like software or something..

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Which satellite does the communal dish point to and have you set the receiver to that satellite?

Well now we know that, it might suggest that your problem is related to the feed into your Apartment.

As previously stated, a bit of substitution with the cooperation of a fellow resident will tell you a great deal.

If it's the box, it won't work on a known working feed.

If it's your feed, a neighbours box won't work in your Apartment.

Aferthoughts

1. Where (roughly) is your Parents' house? UK? Greece? Somewhere else?

2. I'm assuming you mean Astra 2 (28E), not Astra 1 (19.2E)?

3. To get all UK Channels from Astra 2 in Greece requires a mighty Dish - Do you know what size it is?

4. Is it a sort of British expat community - hence the Communal Dish being for Astra 2?

Sorry for all the questions, but the more info and certainty we have, the easier it should be to get to the nub of the problem.

I dont think the dish is the problem..
everything happens in greece.
im guessing astra 1?(the one with mostly italian channels and some french)
here in greece its mostly astra if you want italian and/or french and hotbird if you want german.
so there you go.. maybe somthing's not tuned up correctly i dont know.. the 2 signal bars are both at zero except when the wire is halfway out the upper bar goes to about 30%.. i dont know if thats just noise or if there is a problem with the contact..
