Echostar dsb 2110 2ci viacess

hello ,really new to this,bought this receiver about 2 years ago,along with ultra b nature channel card, but after reading all the messages on this site i dont seem to be getting the most from it,i cant seem to recieve any channels above 12000,if i try to do a upgrade over the air it says upgrade failed,what can i do,also how do i recieve more channels what card can i buy ,do i need a card thanks for any help.

i too have one of these receivers, the menus etc are a bit slow compared to newer receivers but you get good picture quality etc from this receiver. Sounds to me like your LNB setting is wrong, check your LNB is a "Universal" one and that this is selected in the menu. The over the air upgrade may have failed because you have to go through all the settings details on that menu page and press OK,OK,OK,OK to practically everything! This stumped me for hours.

thanks warhead,i done like you said and changed the lnb to universal ,i tried to again update but no good,it went ota then said no update found,done a channel search i got 389 channels ,everything else seems ok,would there be any benifit in me downloading new software from the net what would i get that i dont get now
