Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser. | Hi nick1 and welcome to the forum, your first question is difficult to answer, we don't know what type of dish you intend to buy, whether you will want to motorise it, roughly where you live and your level of computer knowledge. Oh and a small point, how much do you intend to spend. ![]() I will in the first instance, move this to the digital systems section.

My System: Sky+ Multiroom,Thompson PVR, Dreambox 7000S, 300gig HDD, 1.1m Dish, Moteck SG-2100A DISEQC Motor, Gemini image, 2g USB Stick. ![]() A defender of the Remote Control Brigade, Sir R can flick channels faster than a Robben dive | i would look for someone local, just in case you need to get back in touch for support etc... ring round and ask about the Dreambox, and see if they have fitted one before. i for one found out the hard way, that fitting a satellite system and a dreambox are 2 different things..... simply because the Dreambox is more software than hardware. i personally would get a dreambox system and ask lots of questions on here, and learn as much as possible...... in the end you will be really happy with what you have spent your hard earned cash on ![]() the main differece between a normal receiver and a Dreambox is the ability to emulate cards and cams, so there is no need for wafer cards and programmers. you can simply plug the dreambox straight into a pc and update channels etc direct, and the dreambox can also go onto the internet through your PC connection so updating things and installing plugins etc, can be done with the remote control in the comfort of your living room.i would also get a 1.1m dish too.... you will still beable to get all this for £600

My System: DreamBox 7000s - Nokia Freeview - Several GameBoys - DS Lite - ZX81 - SNES - N64 - Sega Saturn Dreamcast - PlayStation - Gamecube - PSP - iPod - iPhone - XBox - PS3 - Wii - No Life! | Totally agree with Red Devil I bought a DreamBox after many visits to this site. I would go as far as to say I couldn't have done it without all the friendly and patient help you will find here. It is a step learning curve, as Rolfw says, but if you have a broadband connection and a PC - with a bit of knowledge - and the help on here, you should be able to get well under way. Bought mine from Germany and cannot fault them. Only word of warning - this is a hobby, no guarantees are given - what is available to you today may not be tomorrow. Football is a big part of pay TV and my experience would point to providers changing things around league starts and big matches. As for fitting follow the instructions on this sits and with basic DIY skills and no fear of heights then you can tackle this yourself. That said if you can afford to employ the experts then it will save you lots of time etc.
