Hi there, my old folks have recently got a satellite system so they can get the french tv channels among others. We've got an Echostar 3600IP Viaaccess receiver set up on a motorised dish and everything's working nice, apart from a lot of channels being encrypted. I'm very interested in unlocking the TPS channels on HOTBIRD and a few others (films and footy on THOR).. some porn wouldn't go amiss either! I've been asking around and have been told that I need (and I quote): "a matrix cam with version Matrix Reloaded 1.070, this opens up tps and multivision on hotbird as it has gone back to viaccess 1 .To get films and footie on 1w thor you will need an m2 card and a pheonix programmer. Try unapit hes the cheapest". Here's my questions: -For my receiver what's the best card/cam i should get to unlock the channels I want? How much would I be looking to pay (I'm in UK)? -Do I need only need a MRV with 2.14 firmware, or will I need to program a card and put it in? -Would I need a phoenix infinity usb programmer, or can I use the MR Cam to program cards. -What card should I get (I hear MR uses fun cards, so should I get a fun card 6 (which has the biggest size)? -Will plugging in a programmed card/cam in my receiver automatically de-scramble these channels? Also, i've read that on some receivers you can enter encryption keys directly into the CAM setup menu - so you don't need cards? Thanks in advance for your replies! Proddeh

Blog Entries: 5 My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser. | I wouldn't bank on any of those combinations working for more than the short term, so wouldn't recommend any particular setup. What is here today, will almost certainly be gone tomorrow, or you will require different equipment to receive it.

| That's a good start. Go for a cheap gold or silver card and you should get the French TPS channels on Hotbird. When and if TPS goes blank in early 2005 you haven't spent much and by then you can decide how much more money and effort you want to invest. | ||
