Star Sat Receivers

Hi,

What would be a good choice between the following Star Sat receivers? :

FTA: SR-X1700D

SR-X550D

SR-X1500D Super MKII

Universal Embedded: SR-X3500 CUCI Super

SR-X3100 CU Super

Common Interface: SR-X220CI

SR-X650CI Super

Thanks.

Don't know about Star boxes, but the basic principles apply.
1. What do you want to watch?
2. Do you intend to use it often?
3. Do you want to upgrade in the future?
If you just want it fo occasional viewing of obscure channels (though there are some reasonable ones around) then stick with the FTA.
Universal embedded (magic module?) is still limited, dependant on available firmware.
Personally, I'd go for a receiver with twin common interface slots, though I'd also make sure that the receiver was well supported, not just by the makers, but various file guys for updates/patches etc.
One of the best sites to help you make your mind up is h**p://www.duwgati.com/uk/
Hope that this helps a little in your search.
