Free Spanish stations

Hi all

Is there any way I can obtain access to free Spanish and German TV channels (and possibly other countries) in England?

I don't know much about satellite TV....well nothing really, so any help on systems would be great.

I have Freeview at the moment....if that makes any difference....probably not!

Many thanks

frankg

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

With a cheap digital "free to air" satellite receiver with a dish pointing at the satellites at 19E. You get around 140 stations in German (loads) and Spanish (half a dozen).

There are fta spannish progs on Hispasat located at 30degrees west, and if you take a look at the web site of the previous poster I understand that "naughty" programmes fta are also to be seen there. But they are on too late for me to watch

What are you after exactly?
Is it that you have a bilingual / trilingual family and want as many of each as you can get or are you looking for something particular in each of the languages ? If we know what you are after - where you want to recieve from (Carlisle or Lizard Point) and what you are going to use as EQPT then there is a good chance we can help you through it.

EQPT is equipment Just shortform that's all.

You can get lots of FTA (free to air) channels with a very basic setup.
but will your rellies want to watch more than news and weather etc. ?
If you are looking for newish films etc in their languages then you will have to consider something that will decode as well as recieve.
Don't be frightened off by all of this as we are all enthusiasts here, for the most part. You can get a £60 PCI card for your PC at one end or spend £500 on something that will do the same job but in a very different way.

Have a read about here and don't spend any cash untill you are absolutlely sure
what it is you want to do. KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS

Meanwhile - have a look at Lyngsat.com to see what is available.
45'e to 45'w and all in between are mostly 'Gettable' with a reasonable dish.
Have fun looking and post a reply when you narrow things down.
