Autoview on non-sky digital receiver?

Hi. I noticed that on an ordinary Sky Digibox you can automatically change channel at the beginning of certain programs - for example if you're going out/going to bed and you want to record a few different channels onto your VHS tape.

I haven't noticed this function on my Smart Centurio receiver and this therefore may seem a daft question but is there any way of doing this autoview thing on receivers that don't support it? (e.g. an extra gadget for remotes/receivers or a software download)
