Thumbs up Freeview for your digital receiver

I noticed ‘digital FTA’ as an option for Technomate 5000ci.
I e-mailed them and they replied: ‘We will be having a new model (combo digital/terrestrial digital by May 03)’ so Freeview BBC3, CH5 etc without yet another box and scart lead!.
I hope they have the new one patched and with a cheap cam offer.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Sounds interesting, haven't heard a sniff of this prior to your post, will of course be useful in the UK, or any other country with digital terrestrial transmissions.

Thats good news. a 2 in 1 box sounds great. And its also been confirmed on other forums.

I suppose it makes sense since Digital TV processing shares many of the same hardware needs, wheather is be sat or terrestrial, so costs are reduced.

It would appear perhaps to be to do with the new Samsung chip that Net1 posted about a couple of days ago http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/...threadid=4076, it combines functions normally carried out by separate chips, thus reducing the price and making these Hybrid units possible within the lower price ranges.
