Talking Portable Satellite Receiver

Is the camping satellite system that lidl is offering on the 23rd of this month any good. We have a camper van and are based here in Northern Ireland. What satellites would this system pick up from the north of Ireland? Would the dish size be too small for hotbird and eurobird 28.5 and astra 2 28.2. I would be most grateful if some of you experts could answer this before I buy.

Cheers

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

The dish is quite small but should get moderate reception in good weather conditions.

It will only pick up the strong ones, 28.2 should be OK, probably 19.2 and possibly some of Hotbird 13E, this would be enough to give you something to watch though.

I know that, but does anyone know what the specifics are, for example lidl pushed the COMAG SL55 out a while back for ~£50 - which is a patcheable box. Just wanted to know more of the specifics....

The Ebay seller thinks you can pick up the BBC anywhere in Europe with that little dish. Just as well the trade descriptions act doesn't apply...

Got my lidl camper system today. The Comag is quite nice and well worth £70 by itself. The extra dish and wiring is ok.

My kit had the f-connectors missing, so the max signal I can get is about 59%. (Check the box before you buy).

I bought mine from Lidl in Slough and they had about 30 of them at lunch time.

I will connect up to by minidish tonight to see how the software handles.

I wonder how many new members will visit over the next few days?

They were selling like hot cakes at my local Lidl this morning!

These people really annoy me, they deprive genuine buyers of acquiring a bargain.

When I brought it home the first reaction was 'are we getting a caravan?'

Then when I was taking pictures of it I was asked 'are you selling it?'

Then - 'why do we need another satellite system when we have other dishes and receivers?' - they just don't understand...

Real satellite fans in my house!

Waiting for 'you never watch TV, you're always on the computer' next.

If they sell I can see a lot hitting Ebay as people give up trying...

At least the first seller had tried it out (F connectors fitted to cable)

the only issue is your dish might be too small for this satellite.... dunno.
i use a 60cm dish for analogue transmissions on the south coast of uk.

seems to suggest if you find the right source, you might get them 'cheap' from germany.....
