SKY Digital Card in Technomate receivers

I was just wondering if u can use a SKY subscription card in the Technomate receivers ( the 1s with the cams, slots - obviously)?? if so.. can u still use a motor for the other satellites?

Cheers,
Marc

Question You can insert it

But it will not do anything to decode the subscription channels. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I suppose it would work with a dragon cam inserted into the CI slot and then the card inserted into the cam. But you need to programme it before you could use it with the card id number.

My System: Pace Sky+ V2 160GB, TM5500DAPCI + various cams, several dishes
Technomate & Dragon & Sky Card

Sky+ card working in (almost) latest s/w working in Dragon 2.06 in my Technomate TM5500DAPCI - and it still allows access to the other satellites/encryptions for which the receiver/cam set-up works without the card. Allows access only to those channels for which the card is subscribed.

Rather slower to change channels than the Pace 3100 Sky+ box, and the channel list is not anywhere as informative as that shown on the Sky+ EPG - just a list of channels in numeric or alphabetical order, and little discrimination in the channel names (e.g. does not show "Sky Cinema 1" and "Sky Cinema 2" - just "Sky Cinema" twice on two successive channels).

To get it to work, you have to load the s/w into the cam, and then enter the Sky RECEIVER serial number (which you find in the Sky receiver Set-up menus) - NOT the Viewing Card Number - from the paired receiver into the cam. Then switch the receiver to Standby and back on again.

hi,

I am now using TM1500+, dragon cam and sky card, it works fine.
I got Sky Cinema 1 and 2 on the list, its been a while, but something still confused.

do i have to use the dragon cam?(except sky that cam is really useless.. does matrix or some other cam working on this case?)

do i have to put the card back into sky box(to update the sky card?)

At the moment, the Dragon CAM is the only CAM that will allow use of the sky card with it.

From what I have read in vaerious places, you do need to re-insert the sky card into a Sky Box in order for it to update - but I haven't tried my Sky card in my Dragon CAM, so I can't say for sure.

My System: Dreambox 7020 Dreambox DM500 Sky Thomsom Digibox StrongSat FTA Reciever 80cm Dish + 45cm Dish via Disecq A/B.

if you use a cam emu such as newcamd you dont have to ever take sky card out of the box, Im using cardserver0961 (from newcamd) and cs2gbox/gbox to view my sky card. Ive had it like that for a few months, and ive checked the update dates. But these have past 3 times now and the card is still wroking 100%, you just have to set EMM to yes

give me money now
