Channel Hopping Help

I have a digital receiver and tv in an upstairs room that is also connected to a tv downstairs (via coax), is there a way I can change channels on the upstairs receiver when viewing downstairs without having to go upstairs to do it? Hope this makes sense? Any "sensible" answers appreciated.

My System: Technomate 1500 CI+ Super and Sky Digital

You mean like this? I used to have a setup like yours with Sky and used to change the downstairs box from bed with a Multilink and second Sky remote.

Argos do a variety of them too if they're more convenient.

Have looked at both sites, the av sender from Argos at £24.99 was the cheapest. I noticed a Sky Magic Eye remote sender for around a tenner would this do the job and work with a none Sky receiver?

Thanks for the posts

Someone called ?

A Sky sender will not do nada for any other piece of kit, even though Maplins and other outlets promise they will.

I take it the Echostar is more important for the two rooms ? You may get more satisfaction from a 2.4 GHz wireless system which has a return for the remote function. You could also use it for the BSkyB box, but you will have to change the SCART connection before going to bed.

With one of these you can transmit the programme content in stereo up to about 20m if its a decent one.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

Have a look at the Omni Link+ at B&Q for about £25.

Works through the coax cable like Sky system but will work with any make of remote controlled equipment.
