Humax 5400 reverting to one channel

I thought one of the cats was lying on the remote control for a week but now realise there is a problem with the 5400 on long term borrow

Once the unit has warmed up (after a day or so) the receiver will either change to channel 252, or when putting into standby will for no reason, switch back on. It only happens once in an evening and can be solved by pressing recall, but can be a pain when Ive gone out and expect to watch a recording later on.

I havent deleted the channel list yet as Ive got a number of SCPC feed satellites in the memeory.

Is it firmware (upgraded to TOC 2.something or other a month ago) or a hardware fault in the box ?

Dude, I had this problem with mine aswell there isnt a problem with the humax you have somehow setup a chanel to keep coming up be recodered if you know what I mean.

It like a timed program option on the Humax it took me 2 weeks to find the option to remove it. What happens is if you were watching say a prog on chanel 1. what would happen the humax would jump to chanel 2.

If you put it in to stanby then it would jump out of stanby and go to chanel 2.

I will look tonite and see if i can find the rechid thing...

Regards

Billy

Ill buy you a beer if youre coming to Mediacast

Sounds like the logical answer and looking at the menus I could not see a video timer mechanism at all but then Ive used it when somewhat inebriated

Then theres the wife who started using it about the time this beagan happening (but thats another story)

Thats what its called somthing to do with reserved chanel or like that its not a video timer but it will bring the right chanel up when you are recording somthing.
