Porty Problems

Hi All
Having a few probs with my porty.
I've just scanned 28.2 for the fta channels ready for my new year camping trip and although it's found all I'm after I can't get a picture on acouple of channels.
BBC2 England and BBC News 24 are showing on the channel list but not getting anything.
What I can't work out is BBC3 and BBC4 are on the same transponder and work perfectly.
Not come across this before as old porty has always been on 19E in the past for foreign travels.
Any ideas????
Thanks Ivan

I'd say the PIDs your Porty has for BBC2 E and News 24 are wrong. IIRC if you press the 'info' button it tells you what both the APID and VPID values are and you can then check 'em against hxxp://www.lyngsat.com/astra2d.html *

*not sure if all URLs have to be censored (I don't think so - but just in case...)

So the PIDs are right then? Hmm, all I can suggest is that you delete those channels and rescan that transponder (or the whole satellite if you prefer).

It's my main gripe with Astra 2/Eurobird - the broadcasters seem to think we all have Sky boxes and they constantly mess things around for those with other boxes!

Got to agree with you there.
Mainreason for having a fta box was so I didn't have to line Mr. Murdoch's pockets.
Sky news isn't bad so I think I'll leave little porty alone or watch astra 1 over the hols.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.
