Skymaster DXL 9100 keeps getting out of sync

I have a skymaster DXL 9100 digital satellite receiver I bought on Lidl some years ago, the problem is that at random times the video starts "skiping" repeating itself for about a second long, each time it does this audio gradually gets out of sync from video, everytime further and further apart. If I leave the receiver on for a day audio gets about 5 seconds delayed from video. I thought it might be a heat problem, so I "moded" the receiver with a small pc processor fan right on top of its mpeg processor using the receiver's 0/12V switch as it's power source. After all this work I thought it solved the problem as there was a whole 10 minutes of proper sync. I was all happy about it until it started skiping and unsyncing again . Is there anything I can do to fix this? Has anyone had a similar problem with their receiver?

You must be thinking, "yeah buy a new one" lol, but I was hoping I could do something about this, or else I guess I just have to live with that.

I don't know if this helps, but I had a similar problem with my Humax F2 Fox on weak signals. It can be very annoying, particularly when recording a programme.
I contacted Humax and they sent me a version of the software, not in fact the latest, which is more robust on weak signals and I’ve never had a problem since.

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately It happens also on strong signals, and I can't find any firmwares for this receiver, I used to update via OTA and on their web site they only have the latest version, which is the one I have...
