My System: 2x Sky + (Pace PVR3). PC AMD Athlon 3400+
Technomate 1000D

Im looking for alternative sources over sky, and so am finally going to take the first step!

I have a spare Zone 1 mini dish lying around which i plan to use untill i can get some money together, would the Technomate 1000D be a good cheap box to get me started, My plan is to just use a patched reciver to get started, and see what i can find.

Finally is this Ebay.co.uk/Technomate-1000D-Super-Digital-Receiver-Latest-Patch_W0QQitemZ5871019808QQcategoryZ96970QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">http://cgi.Ebay.co.uk/Technomate-100...QQcmdZViewItem good value for money? I should be able to pick it up so that will save postage.

I hope someone can give me good advice.

go for it m8, the Tecchy 1000 is easy to patch and update from your pc via a null modem serial lead and darkmans loader and patch, keys can be updated via remote or softcam via your pc. would consider an 80cm dish though, even better motorised.

My System: Technomate 1500ci+ super (upstairs), Phoenix Apollo MC (downstairs) both running off a cheapo 80cm dish with a twin output monoblock 13° & 19.2°. Sky+ (downstairs) piped 'round the house.

Got my mate one from the wholesalers, he couldn't afford the 1500Ci (worried about future compatibilty as the 1000D has no cam slot) at that time, so opted for the 1000D..... for the money you can't go wrong (the price of £59.99 is very close to the wholesale price I paid!), he hooked it up to an old 80cm dish with a wizard on (13 & 19), the LNBs weren't even universal (tight *****).... I gave him a spare uni LNB and forced him to fit it....Some people
Him being pleased was an understatement
