Head for the Links Section on this very forum and you will find plenty of links to other sites offering firmwares. Just a question of picking one you like the look of, there is only one alternative firmware to the official one, I think.

Yep and also there is a sticky thread at the top of the receiver software section entitled "So you want receiver software patches"

Thanks guys, the altsat forum resolved the problem. Listen one more question regarding the receiver. I have 2 slots, one where you slide in your card and one that looks like a pcmcia. The pcmcia slot always gives me coded channel, however if I use that card in the upper slot it works fine...any solutions to that? Thanks in advance.

The CI slot is for an additional CAM, so if you had two viewing cards, you could put a Nagravision/Conax/Mediaguard/irdeto CAM in there with a subscription card.

I knew that was for an additional card and I do have two...but do you have to install the CI thing? Since both cards work in the normal slot but the CI doesn't seem to work... always says coded signal...

The CI slot requires a CAM, do you have one in there?

Yes I do, an official mediaguard CAM...and the weird thing is that if I remove the smartcard that's in there and just plug it in, then there is no problem, however if I put it in via the mediaguard cam it says that the channel is codeD...something weird... do you need to install it or something or change a code somewhere?

Silly question, but have you tried the card both ways up?

If you use a CAM in TM1500CI, try to reset patching: go to menu-system information- and press 2004 with remote
