Help with Golden Interstar 8005CI receiver

How do I download anything into this box ? I have the right s/w and loader etc but using either a null modem cable or the other type I can't connect to the 8005CI. Am I meant to have the receiver in standby or what when I try to download ??

Anyone know how to change diseq position numbers also ?
