Question xtreme or technosat 5500CI ?

Firstly many thanks to Rolf and Meldrew for their advice.

I think I am going to get either the Technomat 5500 CI (£150)or the xtreme receiver (£210). Which one do you think I should plump for? I will also get a monoblock so I can get eutalsat at 13 and Astra at 19 degrees will these receivers be suitable?

In terms of future proofing, am I right in thinking I will need a 'magic' cam such as 'magic' or 'joker' for the Technomat to receive any encrypted channels but with the xtreme I will just need a card?

If I do go for the technomat which universal cam do you think would be best?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Hi Den, sorry, haven't used either of the receivers you mention, but they both have a following, was hoping some of our members who use them might have replied.

If you went for the Xtreme, you could afford to motorise straight away.

The issue here is the addtional cost of upgrading to motorised over the monobloc. I went single bloc (!) and even at that price I should probably have motorised straight away. Now if I still have a job at Xmas.......
