Buy a dreambox for TPS?

Hi,

I currently have a crappy reciever and a Dragon cam to watch TPS. Changing keys every 20 minutes by remote is not something my family will put up with!

I see the Dreambox/softcam is popular and that you can patch/upload by TCP/IP. Is there a program you can install on your PC,that hunts down the changed AES keys on the internet and automatically changes it on the Softcam?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I did search first.

My System: DreamBox 7000s - Nokia Freeview - Several GameBoys - DS Lite - ZX81 - SNES - N64 - Sega Saturn Dreamcast - PlayStation - Gamecube - PSP - iPod - iPhone - XBox - PS3 - Wii - No Life!

I have seen some scripts that say they will change the keys automatically, haven't tried it myself.

Remember that TPS may change encryption at any time so that shouldn't be the only reason to buy an expensive receiver. IMHO.

Having said that Dreamboxes are amazing bits of kit!

Hi Dazman,

Err... sort of. I've got a program that does it pretty well, but it's for a SAT-PC card (SkyStar 2) using ProgDVB - it's a plugin. My Softcam is now over 50kb..!

So I presume someone's either come up with one for the Dreambox or someone's busy porting it...

I'm fairly sure that TPS doesn't use a new key every time, just some of the time - when it changes, sometimes it's completely seamless, and sometimes ProgDVB locks up and has to be restarted...

Hope this helps.

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

It does have an AU for TPS but it (or mine is) very clunky and too slow to make a film consistently watchable.
