My System: No idea about what my dish(90cm) or motor is. Receiver; Technomate 1500 C+ super
Technomate 1500 help

Good evening people. After stumbling across this site on Google I've decided to join up

I've had my sat setup since Saturday. It's a 90cm dish which is motorised and connected to a Technomate 1500. I don't really know much about all this sat lark but I've been learning.

I've got hotbird, astra1/2, Eutelsat W2 and a few others setup up. My problem is there is one channel that i cant setup. I've been trying to get Fox Sports but to no avail.

I've added the new transponder and SR. But cant find anywhere to add the FEC

I've got the information from Lyngsat. If anyone knows how to set this up it would be most appreciated.

Oh and I'm in the UK

I should bl dy well think so since this is the English part of the forum.

Well you may well struggle at the moment CDLC anyhow. I notice that either they have steered the beam away from the UK a bit in recent days or they have done some drift correction and overcompensated as recently the weather has been clear as a bell and yet I have struggled to maintain a picture myself with my 1.2. Of course in my case it may be that my system is slightly out now as the polar mount is on a flat roof and the intense heat does sometimes seem to make it flex slightly but I actually think it is the more the former so a 90cm dish may not be enough especially if you are not properly tuned up and do not have your skew correct.

Sorry I cannot help with the technomate FEC as I have never seen one but I am sure someone will jump in

Fox on 16E?

It's tough to get, depending on where you are. Where abouts in the UK are you?

You need at least a 1m dish 'up north' so I've been reliably informed... and that W2 can be a pig to nail exactly at the best of times.

Also, I don't think it comes up as Fox Sports IIRC, but some other nonsense.

Hi CremeDeLaCreme,
the only location you have given is UK, if you are on the South East coast you might get a signal from Fox Sports 16E, during the day and in good weather, otherwise you will need a larger dish, probably a 1.1M Triax or 1.25M Gibertini, depending on your location.
If you are after channels on 16E, start with M2 11304 V 30000 then if you can get this try the feed for the darts, about 2PM and about 8PM they should be on, perhaps earlier, 11176 H 5632.
Also try a few other channels:

Please post back with your signal strengths and a slightly more accurate location, e.g. North West.
Best wishes

Thanks for all the replies. I'm actually in Leeds.

In reply to Mickha, I'll have a lot at that later, time to go to the office.

Once again, thank you all for taking time to reply

Right I'm back and here are the results;

I managed to get M2 no problems, good picture. Receiver was hovering around 75-80% signal strength

Also, the darts channel BT5 I think it was called - I got that no problem. Excellent picture and signal strength again about 80%

I searched for few others channels and also did a blind search. Picked up a channel showing and Italian game and also a test channel. The test channel was in a UK ground by the look of it - the camera was only focused on a billboard sign above one of the stands. Phones4u I think it was

So, I've tried Fox Sports again and still can't find it. I went through ALL the W2 channels one by one after I did a blind search (in case the channel was named something else) no joy again.

Somebody please help as the cricket starts tomorrow

I just upgraded to a 1m Gilbertini because it was advertised as better than a 1.1m Triax! I will be severely dischuffed if it turns out the 1.1m Triax is equal to a 1.25 Gilbertini

It was advertised with 'AzEI' can anybody tell me what that means please?

Hi CremeDeLaCreme,
Fox Sports scans in as unnamed and some people have trouble receiving it on the standard frequency 11021 H 2894 so try altering the frequency slightly to 11024.
M2 is a very strong signal on 16E, but if you're picking up a lot of the feeds then your dish looks like it's aligned properly so the only thing you can do is try a larger dish.
Fox Sports is one of the most difficult channels to pick up, so keep trying, but given your location I would recommend changing your dish.
Best wishes

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

AZEL stands for Azimuth Elevation, it is the type of bracket, ie: a standard one.

Not sure how much advantage you will get with the 1m Gilbertini over the 1.1m Triax, there may be a small improvement, but it certainly shouldn't be dramatic.

I can live with that m8 but hearing a suggestion that the Gilbertini 1.25 is only equal to the 1.1 Triax rang some alarm bells.

The way this bug has bitten me I'll have a 3m dish in the back garden soon anyway

I think the Gibertini 1.25 should see off the 1.1 Triax comfortably in the vast majority of cases

They ain't cheap though
