Unhappy AD3000IP, Updating satellite database

Hi All,

I'm still having a problem with my AD3000IP setting up the satellite data,

After repairing the PSU and H & V selection Circuitry, I decided to update the satellite database, as it is years out of date apart from a few transponders I have added over the years, so I decided to Purchase a copy of SetEdit, as I didn't fancy updating for 3 or 4 nights using remote ECT. I downloaded SDX files from satcodx.com, and loaded them into seteditAD3000, saved settings then uploaded to STB, but although the upload went ok my new satellite list is not appearing in the sat menu in the AD3000IP, the system software is the 1100 off the echostar site, which I re-loaded. is this the latest 1: AD3000IP_V1100_20040108_w.

I tried downloading the original file from receiver into setedit with no problems but did notice the unused sat positions had no names but some info, is it possible to erase all the original sat, transponder and channel data in the AD3000IP and start from scratch with setedit.

Also If I manage to update with new sat positions, will the auto sat feature still work.

I'm probably missing something or doing something wrong, but cant see what.

If somebody can help me out with this I would be most grateful as it's starting to cheese me off now, No sat for 3 weeks

Hi SST12

The Echostar holds a satellite list in eprom, which you can't delete.

Like yourself, I have found when uploading sdx files via setedit that the satellite list is not shown in the menu - this seems to happen when there are too many channels in the file, maybe overfilling the database.

Deleting unnecessary channels ( I may be wrong, but I think loads of data transmissions are included in the TV channel list with sdx) cured my problem; try just uploading a couple or so sdx satellite channel lists into the receiver and see if it solves the problem.
