The signal you are trying to pick up is so small that it can be completely lost using the wrong type of cable. You need the correct cable (CT100) or equivalent with no joins along it's length, and as short as possible, but no sharp bends.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

If you are receiving the channels you aimed for, then you don't need to change anything, but we did test the cable which was supplied with the dish kits and it was not reall suitable for the purpose, losing 20% of the signal over the 12/15m length.

WF100 or CT100 would achieve far superior results.

Check the cable you have if it has a foil shield between the core and the outer copper wire it's satellite cable.

If it doesn't replace it...

If the OP has used the RG59 suppied by Lidl, then it is double screened GB, but it is still very high loss.

My System: Sky+HD Astra+Hotbird FTA on 60 cm dish

screwfix direct online sell all types of coax and have Philex FT100 cable at about £40 for a 100mtr coil, They also sell normal satellite coax with the foil inside for about half that which is the cable i use. Worth getting a whole drum off the cable and using it for TV downleads as its really good quality stuff.

hi,the maplins ct100 cable is very high quality,it's £1.29 a metre i think, don't know who makes it,but it's much thicker than webro cable and also the foil inside the cable is a lot thicker than webro,i've bought both,i was more impressed with the maplins stuff, but i bought a few metres too short 25 instead of 28 metres and didn't want to add a join or extension so i've had to use webro instead which is inferior in my view.

If you look around then you will find a 100mtr drum of CT100 for a LOT less than £129.

If not then I'll give up my day job.

Well done whoimi, glad to see you got it sorted.

At bientot, CT100 and WF100 are both made by the same company now and whilst the foil in CT100 is slightly thicker, the performance of the two cables is pretty much identical, with WF100 having the advantage of a foam dialectric and being less susceptible to denting and kinking.
I use hundreds of metres of cable per month and WF100 (along with its bigger brothers) is my cable of choice and in no way whatsoever inferior to CT100, I have used both extensively.

At mrminibus, don't know what cable was supplied with the kit last year, but this year's cable is RG59 and loses 8 to 10 db over the 12 metres or so provided, this could be the kiss of death on reception of all but the strongest satellites with the small dish provided.

I have just had a look and its rg59.... this is rubbish then eh?
Mine looks ok sat in the box behind the sofa where it has been since I bought it... I have played with the stb but not the dish or coax as I put it on my 88cm dish, although the satfinder which came with it works great.... its an audio only meter and doesn't tell you which sat your on but if you use a compass first its great at fine tuning with this meter...Hi-tech I know

Those little satbeepers are great, certainly 100% easier than trying to align without one.
