My System: 1m Dish with sky box in Tenerife, Standard sky system and cable tv in the UK not very impressive but i am working on it.
Question Reading firmware is it possible?

Is it possible to read the firmware from a DVB-S receiver without removing the eeprom, I do have the Willam programmer and have removed and dumped eeproms before without any problems, but the receiver belongs to a mate who’s not happy with me removing the eeprom.

The receiver has the RS232 port and the manufactures supply software to save the channel files and also update the existing firmware but I am wanting to read the whole of the eeprom is this possible?

This is a copy of the log file after I updated the exiting firmware on my receiver.

terminal successfully opened
