My System: Kathrein 90cm Dish; Stab HH-90; Humax PR-HD1000; Diablo Light CAM; CAS 3+ Programmer; DVBViewer / vPlug; |
Hi, I'm fairly new to some of less popular European satellites and am having a hard time understanding what's going wrong. Any advice is very much appreciated. I'm trying to move my motorised dish to Atlantic Bird 3 at 5° W. I seem to have located the satellite and have good signal strength with my 90cm dish in Switzerland. I can successfully tune in to ... Atlantic Bird 3 (5.0W) - 12585.00 H - Txp:KA8 - Beam:LargeDVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 2/3 - NID:272 - TID:900 ... but when I try to tune to ... Atlantic Bird 3 (5.0W) - 12711.00 H - Txp:KA11 - Beam:LargeDVB-S (QPSK) - 30000 1/2 - NID:65535 - TID:1 ... I get no reception. I'm sure I've misunderstood something. Any help would be great. I've got a 90cm Kathrein Dish, a Universal LNB and a Humax PR-HD 1000. Thanks, -ME- http://en.kingofsat.net/tv-5W.php

My System: Motorised 1.2M Fibo looking between 45E - 60W, TM9100 Receiver running EDG-Nemesis 3.2 in flash | I think the two frequencies use different beams, 12585 uses the 'super' beam while 12711 uses the 'wide' beam. If you look at the technical site for Eutelsat http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/5wab3_popd.html# You will see that, in Switzerland, you get a slightly weaker signal, maybe enough to affect your reception.

My System: Kathrein 90cm Dish; Stab HH-90; Humax PR-HD1000; Diablo Light CAM; CAS 3+ Programmer; DVBViewer / vPlug; | You're right. My mistake. On KingOfSat's website, the beam is shown as the same but on Lyngsat, it's shown as Super vs. Wide. I guess if it's only the signal strength, I can go out on the balcony again and try to wiggle a bit :-)
