My System: 90cm channel master, jaeger 1224 ,vantage x221tsci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, setanta on 60cm minidish | you must have a big garden to fit it in as for the feedhorn if you got it with the dish then it will be the correct one i take it your after nilesat so the alignment and skew of the lnb will be crucial yes would like some pics if you got a camera

I am using a feedhorn and c120 invacom and getting 20% on 11996H 7.0w. I know the dish can get more ( i hope ) but its just trying to get the right feedhorn. I have searched the net and made a phone call but nobody has one. @ wod I'll post a picture soon m8, and no my garden is not big thats one reason why wife has gone mad. Wife = then and now

In fact it gave a lower % then my current feedhorn. Tested yesterday at 16.00 on 7.0w and the this feedhorn gave me 2% less than my current feedhorn. Tried with both invacom c120 and inverto c120. I lost 11996H on Tuesday and still it has not come back, i get a very weak signal but not enough to keep a stable picture. I think it could be the weather or/and the time of year. So as you can guess I am totally gutted, so plan B could be to look at moving .I have family in South Wales and Kent, now there are good places for sat hunting a lot better than damp and wet Manchester.

The thing is now whats the point in keeping it if I cant get a good lock on 7.0w 11966H. I am going to take it down and rebuild it. When I put it up I put the bottom half on first then put the top half on and bolted it together. I am now going to put the two half together on the ground first and then put it on. Don't know if it will make any difference but I've nothing to lose. What is puzzling me is my arms and feedholder/feedhorn are totally different then Likvid's dish. See here Some pics of a Andrew 2.4m Gregorian antenna Then mine

The same as the great fibo dish.It is very important that he 2 pieces are lined up perfect. Not sure what the best way too do it is, nut once set up you can use string stretched over the face to see if its lined up correctly ![]() Here is a pic of my Fibo gregorian dish

My System: 2m NERA Prime Focus Dish for C/ku Bands, DM500, SkyStar2, Technomate 5500CIP, Force 1122. | You could use some small mirrors 1cm square and place them on the main 2.4m reflector at various points. If you point the dish at the sun (I know this may be a problem in your case) then the reflected light will tell you exactly where the focal point is and it will show you if any part of the dish surface is not aligned properly because the reflected light will not be at the focus. In general terms the dual mode feed that came with the dish will out perform a corrugated/stepped feed that you replaced it with. Andrew have so many feed types so its best to check the part number and see what the spec says about its frequency coverage etc. Andrew do a Gregorian feed for your dish as I have one on our 1.8m Andrew/CM here for VSAT use. Not sure what the cost of the Gregorian dual reflector feed arrangment is but I bet its not cheap knowing Andrew. Cheers.

I only need another 1 or 2 % to get a picture, so that makes it even worse. db is showing 72% it needs 74% to keep a stable picture. Came down this morning for a drink at 03.30 and tried 11996H and had good solid picture with 77%. At the mo its on 72% and you just get bits of sounds and picture now and then. The weather is very bleak, overcast and damp at the mo. I'm going to go out and have a play in a bit.

I have undone all the bolts and tightened them again but made no difference. Looks like I will have to wait for a cloud free day in Manchester......might be waiting a while me thinks.

My System: Andrews 1.2 dish. Inverto LNB. Matched feedhorn. Technomate 6800 | Probaly won't apply in your case but my neighbour a few doors away was having problems for months with his satellite system. He has a small motorised setup but suddenly was not getting a good signal. Traced it back to the coax where the window cleaner had lent his ladder on the cable. He did a quick join to check, it was the cable, replaced it and its fine. On inspecting the cable you could see where the ladder had dug in and probaly more so due to the hot weather with the cable in the sun. He admits it was cheap cable but has got good quality this time and run it it conduit.

My System: Technomate 1500, 90cm Dish, Mesh Computer ART, Digit Alb, Fortec 2.4m Dish Channel Master 2.4m, Showtime. | Hi mate, Sorry to dissappoint you I have been trying to get nilesat horizontal beams in the midlands with a 2.4m dish for weeks and was not able to pull in the appropriate signal quality needed. Have now given up as this fortec dish as given me so many problems. Friend of mine has a channel master 1.8 lets see if this one pulls in a better signal? You are further North than me mate so the reports that I am getting is the signal will drop off for Manchester, Good luck mate.

Its amazing just how much the signal drops off the further North in the UK you go. Some guys in the South of UK have the H beam on just a 1.2 dish. I can get 11919H OK on my dish and can watch Baghdad TV no problem. The one I want is 11996H this is OK when skies are clear but like today and the last few days its been very overcast and damp. Just done a scan of 7.0w and found 333 services, last week when it was clear I did a scan at about 22.30 and found 505 services. So you can see the difference. The most the 1.5mtr dish ever got was 203 services. When I scan it does find channels on 11966H but its just 1% to weak to watch. M8 big difference between CM and fortec star, fortec star dishes are tempting at the price but they have to be fitted perfect if not then it wont be any good what so ever. @TJExcalibur m8 I replaced the cable today with pf125 and it has made a slight difference in the stability of 11919H.

I am using my old Technomate 5500 and small TV in garden to find 7.0w. I am using a long channel master feedhorn and invacom c120 single. This is the best combination I have tried. I have the matched feedhorn but that performs less then this one. See pictures.

My System: Dreambox 7020, CM 1.2 with invacom quad c120 & channelmaster feedhorn. | Just wondering what type of meter you were using aswell. As the skew on the lnb is vital too. From what i have seen the quad c120 lnbs are the best for fringe reception. Mine came from a dish in Cyprus that was used for Astra 28.
