No, I don't think it would.

As what we call a 'mesh' dish is not really mesh, but a solid dish with loads of holes in it. The microwaves can't get through them little holes, the wavelength is too long. It's fine as long as the dish doesn't get distorted.

Incidently, in reality being down there, right near the beach, you might be able to go from 45E to 58W, just seen a post elsewhere, a guy using an 80cm 'mesh' dish along the coast in Brighton, being able to do it. I think he even got a couple of verticals from Nilesat.
Best way to find out, is to stick the dish up, get it all setup properly on the arc, and have a scan around.

Is there a particular satellite you are after?

Yes

Well unfortunately the high salt content of the air in coastal areas tends to take its toll on all types of dishes steel and aluminium the best being clear perpex with embedded mesh and fibreglass with embedded mesh. You don't however say where you are in your profile.
