Hi, there.

Probably not.

You'd be better off with a strong steel one.

A scaffold pole from your local scaffholders will do the trick.

P.S
and have a good read through this as well mate.

I'd agree, a steel mast is a must, but having said that, mine's been running for several years now with an aluminiun mast (all I had at hand at the time).

Reasons for Steel mast, stronger, more rigid and harder, a scaffold pole even better.

My System: 90cm channel master, jaeger 1224 ,vantage x221tsci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, setanta on 60cm minidish

scaffold pole is better but they are weighty as i was redoing my system today and felt it when adjusting it for level need like 3 hands

a steel pole 4mm thick should be ok

aluminum pole would crush around the clamps on t&k brackets

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

As "wod" stated, 16gauge aluminium tube will start to deform as you tighten up the bolts on the brackets and the motor.
Parky.

SGB at Willesden will have them, or most plant hire companies, otherwise look in Yellow Pages for a Steel Stockholder.

I've used one of those as well, no problem at all with movement as they are very heavy guage, but still a little soft, as the motor bracket tends to dig into the aluminium.
