My System: dunno
dish picks up wrong LNB

Hi chaps ,

i have a fixed dish which has 3 LNB on it , Astra , hotbird and somthing else - not sure .
I was using this with a dreambox setup . I have recently bought a sky + box and card .
When I plug it in it gets the blue screen and the signal test is very strong - however it is pointing to the wrong LNB ? Sattelite? as on the pace sky + box in the menu I can see it is recieving 13E when it should be 002e I believe . Can anyone help ?

Thanks

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

You cannot operate a DiseqC switch with a Sky+ box, so unless Astra 28.2 is on port A of the switch, the Sky+ box will not see it.

The Sky+ recording functions will only work with a Sky plus subscription and you will require a second feed, so you would be better to swap out the existing LNB for Astra 28.2 and replace it with a quad LNB, running separate cables in for the Sky+ box.

Thanks for replying , how can I make sure that astra is on port A of the switch ? Unfortunately for me I will only be able to use half the functionality of the Sky + system for the moment as it is a huge job to run another cable to the box , so for the moment I would be just happy to recieve sky channels .

Thanks

Just look at the switch, the ports should be labelled, if not, simply take the cables off and put them one by one on the extreme left hand port, if non work, then try on the extreme right.

The Sky LNB will be the one on the left hand side as you look at the dish from behind the LNB probably.

Well done, glad you got it sorted.

Sorry should have said that the switch would be near the dish.
